"How to make Gulab Jamun"

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons semolina

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

2 tablespoons ghee or unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons milk

Vegetable oil for deep-frying

2 cups sugar

1 1/2 cups water

2-3 green cardamoms

Instructions:

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, semolina, baking powder, baking soda, and cardamom powder.

Add the melted ghee or butter and mix until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Gradually add the milk, kneading the mixture until it forms a soft dough.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Divide the dough into small, equal-sized balls.

In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.

Gently drop the dough balls into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Remove the Gulab Jamuns from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.

In a separate saucepan, bring the sugar, water, and cardamoms to a boil.

Reduce the heat and let the syrup simmer until it thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the fried Gulab Jamuns to the syrup and let them soak for 10-15 minutes.

Serve the Gulab Jamuns warm, garnished with chopped nuts or a sprinkle of cardamom powder, if desired.

Enjoy your delicious and traditional Indian dessert!
